Our Inspirations

Acharya Shri Mahapragya (14 June 1920 – 9 May 2010) was the tenth Acharya, supreme head of Jain Swetembar Terapanth group. Mahapragya was a highly venerable saint, Yogi, Spiritual, Leader, philosopher, author, orator, and poet. Acharya Shri Mahapragya developed the "Science of Living" education system which is a practical approach for the balanced development of a student and character building.

During his MEWAR visit, he had vision for developing excellent educational institute, his views directed to us for establishing an outstanding educational institute with the noble object of fulfilling Public & Industrial needs.

Acharya Mahapragya Ji's life is source of inspiration to the world. He became Jain monk at the age of ten. He devoted his life for spiritual values as well as social reforms. He played major role in Anuvrat Movement. He is also pioneer of Preksha Meditation. He also developed the Science of Living for the balanced development of a student and his character building. He played key role in establishment Jain Viswa Bharati University, Ladnu. It is the symbol of Terapanth spiritual strength, educational vision direction and inspiration. He travelled all over India on foot and watched Indian society very closely he understood their pain and pleasure he led them to the spiritual heights. During his travels he addressed thousands of public meetings. The problems of people touched his tender heart he tried to solve them in the light of Jainsim. He taught the people the secret of truth, non violence, harmony and sociability. He was a profound saint, writer and philosopher. He always admired intellectuals.

He had command over Hindi, Sanskrit, Prakrit and Rajasthani languages and literature. He played instrumental role in the Anuvrat movement. On 4th February, 1979 his appellation Mahapragya was converted into his new name by Acharya Tulsi and he was also made yuvacharya. On 18th February, 1994, Achary Tulsi declared that Mahapragya would now his successor and have the title of Acharya. He was like divine flower that blooms to rain fragrance .flower may fade away but fragrance of soul is everlasting. Death laid icy hands on him on may 9th 2010 at 2:52 PM in Sardarsahar, but he can never be forgotten he will always live in our memories. In the end I would like to say he is like light house that shows the direction to wondering boats.
